Specialty Recruitment Assessment 2024 - Clinical Radiology
As of 2016 the RCR and London Recruitment have introduced a new aspect to the Clinical Radiology ST1 recruitment process. This is almost certainly the result of the rapid increase in the number of candidates applying, together with the increased calibre of candidates making it difficult to differentiate potential trainees over only 1 week of interviews. The specialty recruitment assessment (SRA) acts as a bottle-neck to allow shortlisting of candidates.
The information provided for the SRA is identical to that provided for the GP recruitment process and we feel it is highly likely you will be sitting the same questions. The information provided on Oriel states that:
"As part of the selection process, from 2016 all applicants to Clinical Radiology ST1 will be required to take a Specialty Recruitment Assessment (SRA). This will be used for shortlisting. In line with other specialties, there will be a cut score below which applicants will not be invited to interview. Applicants will also be ranked based on their score. If the available interview appointments are oversubscribed they will be offered based on ranking order in the first instance."
Unfortunately, the target for this test is not only to achieve the minimum score but also to achieve a score high enough to be offered one of the limited number of interview slots.
This makes the SRA a vital part of your preparation this year. We have teamed up with Emedica - a medical education group that have helped over 20,000 delegates with their GP applications and have excellent feedback, making them the 'go-to' course for GP applicants. They have extensive knowledge of the SRA exam and offer both a course and an online revision question bank.
All of our course registrants get an exclusive discount for their courses and their online question bank. Click below for more details.
